A Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday permitted the Department of State Services to keep Omoyele Sowore, the publisher of SaharaReporters and convener of RevolutionNow for 45 days.

DSS has asked for 90 days to keep Sowore, pending the conclusion of its investigation, however, the court presided over by Justice Taiwo Taiwo granted it 45 days. DSS is, however, free to approach the court for an extension, if it is unable to complete its investigation within the given time.

The security agency anchored its application on the provision of section 27(1) of the Terrorism (Prevention) Amendment Act.

Since news of the court order broke, Nigerians have been reacting on Twitter.
