The Director General of the National Boundary Commission, Adamu Adaji, on Tuesday October 5, 2021, evening in Katsina said that security challenges and other factors prevented field work that could have been carried out on the boundary between Katsina and Kano states.

He, however, commended residents of the two states for living peacefully.

Adaji spoke at a joint meeting with officials on Kano/Katsina interstate boundary held at the Katsina Presidential Banquet Hall.

“The fieldwork we agreed previously to carry out on the boundary could not be realised due to the several forces beyond our control.

“The security challenges faced by both states and parts of the country contributed to our inability to embark on any field work on the boundary.

“It is against that background that I wish to note that the National Boundary Commission shares in the pains and grieves of the people of the state.

“It is our prayers that Almighty God in His Infinite Mercies brings to end all security challenges faced by the State and other parts of Nigeria as a whole, Adaji said.
